Etymology: Acc. to H. τὰ ξυόμενα ἀπὸ τῆς βύρσης ὑπὸ τῶν ἀρβήλων; also = σκώληκες and λαίθαργοι (s. v.; but this has a quite different meaning). - Technical term without etymology. The form λήθ-\/λαιθ- is no doubt Pre-Greek; so will be this word.
